At Tilley Electrical, safety is always our number one concern. We follow the current Canadian Electrical Code, which sets out standards and best practices for all electrical work, and we don’t stray from the code for any reason.
We hire only certified journeymen/women, and our current team members are all Red Seal endorsed (or apprentices on their way to becoming journeymen and achieving their Red Seal). This recognizes they have put in a substantial amount of time on training and education, and have the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent work.
All our electricians keep up to date on new standards, codes, practices and technologies so they can provide the best possible service for our residential and commercial electrical clients.
We pull permits through Technical Safety BC for all our projects (note: this is different from a building permit). In the permit, we outline precisely what work we will be doing. This provides a high level of assurance that everything will be done correctly and in accordance with all provincial codes and standards.
According to Technical Safety BC, “permits are a legal requirement in BC and often necessary for home insurance purposes.” This means if you get electrical work done without a permit, and there later turns out to be a problem with the work, your insurance may not cover you. Don’t let this happen to you!
Safety for you, and for us.
We participate in the safety system for everyone’s protection. Technical Safety BC reports that unpermitted work is four times more likely to result in a significant safety hazard than work performed under a permit. Permits help ensure that the work on your property or business is safe.
We handle the permitting process on your behalf and will explain anything you need to know.
